She is also the wife of the next British exchequer and daughter of a Lord who was finance minister under Margaret Thatcher. We had dinner with her at Fearing’s at the Ritz Carlton downtown where she was quite impressed with the raw buffalo and quail courses.

Architect Gary Cunningham talked about his conversations with Philip Johnson who he collaborated with on the Cathedral of Hope. The sales office of the Museum Tower located downtown accommodated an enthusiastic audience, including Mary Cook who lives in Preston Hollow and chairs the Trinity Trust.

We left our Dallas neighborhoods and travelled to Fort Worth’s Omni Hotel to sit with General Tommy Franks at a lunch and then hear him speak The thoughtfulness and insight of General Franks was quite impressive. He represents an entirely different type of military leader than a generation ago.
